Sedona, Arizona -- Court House Butte and Bell Rock Formations

This image of Court House Butte and Bell Rock was taken in August of 2012.  I used a large format film camera.  It is made from a series of 4" x 5" negatives that I spliced together.  Given the size of the negative and resulting files, I spent about 2 hours cleaning off the dust spots.  I did enhance the sky a bit, but the coloring of the rock formations didn't need much help.  

An interesting side note with this image...  My son was helping me set-up the equipment as my wife and daughter were climbing Bell Rock.  We communicated via phone such that when they got as high up as they were going to go, I snapped the photos.  The resolution of the photos are such that if I were to blow them up, I can make out my wife and daughter in the image.

You will see another of my images taken from close to the same spot about 10 years later using a different method.  Both images will yield beautiful images with lots of detail.
