Old Faithful Geyser Photo Montage – Framed Yellowstone National Park Landscape Art Print – Scenic Nature Photography

A few years back, I traveled to Yellowstone National Park for the first time.  I was amazed at the variety of landscapes and scenic vistas.  As we drove around the park, we had to stop every couple of miles to check out the wildlife, as well.  

One of the more famous landmarks is, of course, the Old Faithful geyser.  It is probably the most developed part of the park.  Since there is a lot of time between eruptions, there are many other things to do at this stop.  There are several gift shops and places to eat.  At the Old Faithful Visitor Education Center, you can have instructive conversations with the Rangers.  And, you can see exhibits on all of Yellowstone’s hydrothermal features (geysers, hot springs, mudpots, and fumaroles).

Being a landscape photographer, my interest was in capturing the essence of Old Faithful, and hopefully I was able to do that with this image.  I sat through several cycles of the geyser to get a good representation of its activity.  This image combines 3 stages of the cycle.  The first image is how the geyser appears about 95% of the time.  Basically, you just see a small amount of steam drifting out of the vent.  The second image shows how you know the eruption is about to begin.  A bit of boiling hot water begins to pop up out of the ground.  Then, the final image shows Old Faithful in all its glory.  On average, the boiling-hot water shoots about 145 feet in the air (sometimes, it's as high as 180 feet).  After a couple of minutes (up to about 5 minutes), the scene goes back to the soft flow of steam.

I have been back to Old Faithful a couple of times since this original trip.  However, I have not quite been able to match the beauty of my original images.  Sometimes, the sky is overcast, or the sun is too high in the sky to get good coloring, or maybe it's something else.?.?  I always come back to these images.

Professional Grade Photo Paper -- We print all of the photo paper prints using a Canon Professional Grade, Fine Arts printer at our own facility.  We use Canon Platinum Pro Photo paper for the highest-quality prints to include sharp, vivid and rich colors.  

Premium Metallic Glossy Photo Paper -- Also using our Canon Professional Grade, Fine Arts printer, we will use a premium grade metallic photo paper that will provide a more silvery sheen to the print.  This gives the appearance that the image was printed on metal.
