Pelican in the Water at Mount Moran -- Grand Teton National Park Landscape Photography Print

I spent several weeks in the Grand Tetons National Park during 2024 to take in its beauty and attempt to portray it in photography. I first went in the spring as the ice was melting in the rivers and lakes. I then went back in late September to catch some of the fall colors. This image was taken in September. 

Most mornings, I would get up early to capture the sun rise over various parts of the park. This image was taken on one of those occasions. The sun had already mostly come up, and I was about ready to leave when I saw this pelican swimming in the lake in the foreground. I stopped my packing and reattached my camera to my tripod and snapped a few frames. This one was my favorite. Right after I captured this image, the pelican turned away from my camera and didn't provide another opportunity for a profile.

I printed this image for myself on the Fine Arts paper (i.e., Canon Platinum Pro) and have it hanging at the top of my stairs in my house. (I had to crop it slightly to fit an existing 30" x 40" frame I had in storage.)
